Renewing Your Mind

Apostle Paul, in the book of Romans, teaches us, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans‬ 12:2‬ KJV).‬ ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Man is born into sin and continues to live in it until repentance and salvation, where we are spiritually converted from spiritual death to a righteous life. For us to grow spiritually, we must renew our minds with God’s words and as we renew our minds with the truth, we start thinking and abiding in that truth that can change our lives.

For our minds to be renewed, the wrong beliefs paradigm must be replaced with the truth. As you drop those negative limiting habits and allow the truth to take dominance, you will experience newness because you have allowed your spirit to dominate over your flesh.

Spiritual growth is a process. First, there’s the positioning of sanctification which converts the believer from a slave-to-sin to righteousness through repentance and salvation. Then there’s the progressive sanctification which is concerned with our growth in holiness. Here, our minds are constantly renewed until the second coming of Jesus Christ, where we will be caught up in His glory unto righteousness.

In a nutshell, meditate and seek God’s consent, be organised, live in the present moment, have a daily journal, and write positive affirmations. As you meditate on God’s word, replace those wrong beliefs with the truth. You can take a Bible verse, read and meditate on it and apply it to your circumstances.

Gratitude should be a lifestyle for us all because as we remain grateful for the things that happened, and those that didn’t, we will be filled with so much positive attitude and greater motivation to start our day.
